On Tuesday, June 29th, our parish Buildings and Grounds committee along with parish volunteers met for the third time. Their objective is to select a design for new stained glass windows for the church.
Three local studios have presented to the committee photographs of their work along with photographs of different styles of stained glass. The committee has narrowed their choice of studios to two and reached a consensus on colors and styles. More traditional colors such as reds, blues and purples are preferred. A final decision has not been reached but suggestions for Apostles, Saints, Sacraments and Angels have been discussed.
Doug Scheid, the Chairman of the Buildings and Grounds committee, will document the committee's suggestions and the studios will be asked to provide a simple drawing.
It is anticipated that the next meeting will be in September to allow the studios time to put their proposal together.
The first phase of this project is to install new clear windows in the church and chapel. The windows have been ordered and installation is expected in July.
